I'm looking for a 7mil wetsuit. I typically dive quarry's in the midwest. Would you suggest a 7mil or a 7/5 mil?

My thoughts:

7mil - better for overall warmth.

7/5 mil - Warmth would be sacraficed for comfort.

I've got a 5mil and it's just a little cool at depth. I'd be interested in your suggestions on the 7 or 7/5.

I have a bare velocity 7/6mm... went down to 49 degrees and only really got cold when water started coming in through a crinkle in my hood.

The 6mm part is only part of the back and the arm, the rest is 7mm. I find it comfortable once it's on.

Get a drysuit. Having said that---lol.....BARE makes a great full/attached hood 7mil wetsuit for cold water dips.

I dove many quarries in a 7mm, depending on time of year that can get pretty cold. Nothing less than a 7mm IMO.

I dive dry most of the time, even when it's 100F outside I'll be diving dry for what that's worth to you.
