For the life of me I can't find a mask that is really comfortable for me. I do have a narrow face which limits my mask choices a bit but every single mask that I've taken underwater (tried 4 or 5 total) ends up hurting the bridge of my nose / lower forehead area from putting pressure there. I've tried loosening my straps a bit but unless I loosen them to the point of flooding, it didn't help. I'm thinking to put a self-adhesive pad where it hits my forehead, something like that black foam window insulation tape that's maybe 1/4 inch thick (0.6cm) before being compressed. What's the opinion on this and any good reasons not to do it?

At some point when I get a chance I'll go into a large shop in the US and hopefully find something better fitting, but where I live in Tokyo the selection of masks isn't great at any of the big shops and most models here are made to fit Asian faces (understandably) rather than Caucasians who have more prominent noses and narrower faces than most Asians.

Ya do what you gotta do. But probably easier to get a mask that fits.
Where in tokyo are you at?
i bounce off narita a fair bit if it help[s at all

I had a similar issue being in Taiwan with bad mask fit. I ultimately got myself a HOG frameless mask, and it fits my caucasian nose great.. you can get online/shipped at diverightin cheaply, though narrow face may be an issue (it was with some asian faces)

I have always been in a similar situation, like the sides of my head go abruptly flat so the sides of the mask skirt do not seal. This mask sold under many brands including unbranded has been a winner for me.

Getting an amendment to stick to silicone under dive conditions will be a trick.

Yeah, I haven't actually tried it yet so not sure how well it's going to stick, if at all. I've gotta figure out something because I'm likely stuck with this mask until November at best and have several dive trips planned before that.

Check out the shop MIC21 in Yokohama or Ikebukuro, They have probably largest selections of the masks in the country so you might find one that fits.

Also, Japanese company makes mask with various sizes, Check them out:

Yeah, it was Mic21 where I got this one. Unfortunately nothing they carry is a great fit. Only 2 lines fit my face and sealed, like I mentioned, most of what they carry is more fit for Asian faces which tend to be much wider than mine.

The models I've heard will probably fit better, I can't find in Tokyo. I'm not going to risk an international mail order unless they have free return shipping.
