We regularly go to PIB with our boat, and I would not consider diving that weekend. It is always a total ZOO. I have saw people dive in front of the monument on the bay side, but if that weekend is like a usual holiday weekend, there will be boats anchored there.

If you get to Kellys Island there is shore diving there, with the glacieral grooves, and a wreck. But again the boat traffic can be BAD. The grooves are right were people cut to get into a bay back by the camp ground, so it is very busy.

You can't get air fills on the island, New Wave in Port Clinton is the nearest, but he has good hours, so it isn't too bad.

If you go please post a report, I would love to hear what you saw....I have only dove at PIB to retrieve a power cord, and a cordless drill!

Ok, I have thought more about this...and I bet you can dive on the other side of the monument, the one were people swim...not where the boats park. And what about the State Park at the end of the island the near where the Millers Ferry docks, I bet there is shore diving there as well, and it would not be quite the zoo the other end is.

I have a nautical maps of the area if you would like to see them, I would be happy to scan them.
