Thanks everyone for the time and courtesy to offer advice. S Starfish, yep, the wing nuts were loose so I think one of the problems is solved.
rhlee: nice article, thanks. I took off the wing and fitted the harness as described. It is much tighter now which will also solve a problem.
Colliam7, I just may try some lighter fins. That should help some with the foot down problem. Although, I really think that problem is more technique related than equipment related. Just the same if a switch helps without sacrificing performance, I am all for it.
DIR-Atlanta: Thanks for the tips. I know I am not arching my back enough and that I need to work on.
Ben-Ca: I suppose you are correct. Not enough dives or practice to be where I want to be. Patience is apparently another skill I must gain for DIR diving.

You got that right! Too bad we're not closer we could dive some of these issues. I got lucky and found a shop 50 miles away that teaches DIR in addition to the standard LDS protocol. The beauty of it is they take video just like in Fundies. Monday I get to watch last weeks video and then work on propulsion. I'm sure it will be an awesome tool to use. As some have stated the "water" makes it real hard to judge your attitude/trim etc. Luckily for me I've been diving a BP/W for years but the downside is I've got to break some poor technique as far as kicking goes. It's not easy. So used to doing it a certain way. Anyway I've been watching this thread and have picked up a ton of good info, "homework" I can work on and take to class. There is so much info to process at times I just have to walk away for a bit and digest it.

Anyway thanks to all that added valuable info, great thread.
Carribeandiver best of luck to you on your quest.

Although I have not had the privilege of personally meeting many DIR divers, I can say that they are some of the most helpful divers around. Needless to say, it is no coincidence that they are also collectively, the best divers around.
The time and thoughtfulness so many took to try and present possible resolutions for me is truly touching. You dont know me yet offered to help. Thank you all.
