I need to purchase a new regulator. I currently have an Aqualung micra adjustable. I love it because it is small lightweight, easy on the mouth and breathes well. Can anyone tell me what would be close to the micra in size, weight and breathing? I do not mind spending more money to get what I am looking for. I appreciate any suggestions, thanks so much!

Keep Your Micra, as long as it can be serviced, but if you are like me half the fun of scuba is buying new stuff.

A really good regulator in cold and warm is The scuba pro mk17/s600

top notch reg.

If you want to stick with Aqualung, Legend LX Supreme
and Apex XTX 200 or XTX 50

All of the regs will do the job in about any situation.

There are no regs that i know of that is going to be as small as the micra, but the regs i listed should out perform it.

Most all of the companies making regulators now have a very good reg. I would probably suggest finding a reg that you can get serviced without to much of a hassle. I personally use Dive Rite regulators and have had good luck with them.

Nothing is wrong and I love it. It is just about 7 years old. I am looking to have 2 regs, having 1 for back-up. Also no one seems to want to work on them because they are a hassle, not sure why, though...

I've serviced regs that were at least twice that age which worked as well as the day that they came off of the assembly line (and that's when they came in for service.) Please make sure that you are upgrading for the right reasons, not because your LDS wants to make a sale.

The LDS owner is a very good friend of mine. He sold some equipment to our diving neighborhood and now I will have to say that I have "THE ITCH" to buy some new gear myself.

If you can find one, an Oceanic Zeta is about the same size as the Micra. I know the Oceanic Canada website still shows it as active, but the US website doesn't, so I don't know what the situation there is.
