OK, so my dive club did our pumpkin dive today. It was my first try at u/w pumpkin carving and it was quite fun, although it would have been nice to know the rules beforehand (we could only use our dive knives, no other tools). My buddy had trouble getting the pumpkin down, so we punched a couple of holes in it, which helped. I was using my new drysuit for the first time, which was very nice, no leaks, no problems! I was a bit overweighted, but that helped for when I was on the bottom, doing the carving. We went for a dive to explore the area after we carved since we still had lots of air, and it was my first time diving at Blockhouse. Our pumpkin placed last, but we all got some kind of prize so all was not lost! There was another club that did their pumpkin dive today too, they were finishing when we got started. All-in-all, it was a pretty decent day in Brockville, despite the 52-degree water and on-and-off rain. Now I need a strategy for next year...

Sounds like you and your dive club buddies had some fun last weekend. I've never done a pumpkin dive, haven't done the halloween thing for years. I've been diving dry for a while, isn't it great? :)

What did you get as a prize?

I got the Scuba Equipment Care & Maintenance book, just in time take the Equipment Specialist course!
