We are getting a group together to do some underwater pumpkin carving for fun! Here's the basic plan:
____________________________________________
Sat. Oct. 18
10am (or so) --- Arrive and set up gear for an early dive.
Go to town for lunch
2pm--Carve pumpkins underwater
Go to town for air fills then dinner
after dark--night dive to look at the illuminated pumpkins
_____________________________________________
Sun. Oct. 19
9am (or so)--morning dive or two
head for home
_____________________________________________
Cost: $15/day to dive, $6 to camp (correct me if price has changed at the quarry)
Things to bring:
Pumpkin
Dive knife or carving tools (using patterns is fine)
Cyalume (glow) sticks to illuminate pumpkins at night
String to keep cyalume stick in pumpkin
Dive lights for night diving
Warm clothing & rain gear just in case!
We'll set up as the Scubaboard group/Kentucky Pirahna Patrol so you can ask for us at the entrance.
If you don't want to camp there are hotels in LaGrange:
Comfort Suites
Days Inn
Luxbury Inn and Suites
Super 8 Motel
Prices range from $40 per night to over $90 per night.
www.roomsaver.com has coupons for Luxbury Inn and Super 8.
www.expedia.com had deals on rooms at Days Inn
Beyond that I don't know what's offered in town as far as lodging goes, I just did a quick search.
Hope everyone can come out and join in the fun!
