CCRDiverDave:
I checked many sea slugs in Yap, and on one I found a 3/8" long Periclimenes Imperator commensal shrimp which was reallly cool.... I checked a few crinoids but a shrimp in that entanglement would be harder to find.......I know some urchins have commensal shrimp too......

I tried looking under Crown of throns starfish.....discovered those projectiosn are not soft.....Interesting seeing a plume of green liquid sqirting out of your finger underwater.....stung for a good hour.....
shrimps are common on sea urchins in Anilao, so I expect they should be common in PG as well. Like I said, you'll be able to see a lot of them during the night dive - but if you're diving with an HID light you'll scare those buggers off before you could snap a picture (thanks a lot pak!...)

make sure to post your pics when you're back. Would love to see them!

Surely you're not suggesting that invertebrates dislike high color range lights in the 5000K Kelvin range but they are perfectly fine with incandescent bulbs?!

you know, that would make for a good thesis project!

"anemone shrimp, Periclimenes holthuisi, stress response to divers with incandescents, LEDs, HIDs & light sabres."

now I need to see if I can get an HID manufacturer to sponsor my study...
