Great photos....

Pinmay_Diver, I am traveling to Puerto Galera the end of May....hopefulyl I will have my Sony HiDef videocam and housing by then.....your photo links....the first labum, those commensal shrimp in the anemone...those are Periclimenes brevicarpali.

How hard is it to find those or other shrimp while I am staying in PG? In 6 days of diving in Yap I only saw 1 pair of banded coral shrimp....ever see any clown shrimp, aka Harlequin Shrimp?

just be sure you dive with good dive ops like Asia Divers or those from Atlantis to make spotting easier. eyebrow

We saw several different shrimp types in PG. If you like nudis, there is a place there that is loaded with them. The 3 critters in my avatar was taken in PG. :D

Even if you're checking every anemone during the day?
hehehe, if you wanna go through that many anemones, be my guest. :) Will you be able to find shrimp if you do go through every anemone you come across ? Well, if you don't see a single transparent shrimp, I'd think you must have made the guy upstairs super angry at you to deserve that. :) Just go with a good DM that will be able to help narrow your search.

Don't forget to check all the sea urchins as well.

I checked many sea slugs in Yap, and on one I found a 3/8" long Periclimenes Imperator commensal shrimp which was reallly cool.... I checked a few crinoids but a shrimp in that entanglement would be harder to find.......I know some urchins have commensal shrimp too......

I tried looking under Crown of throns starfish.....discovered those projectiosn are not soft.....Interesting seeing a plume of green liquid sqirting out of your finger underwater.....stung for a good hour.....
