A diver has drowned in waters off Puente Mayorga.

The Royal Gibraltar Police, HM Customs and Defence Police joined the Port Authority launch after a call for assistance: a group of divers had told police in San Roque a colleague of theirs hadn’t resurfaced.

The local vessels motored north to help the Policía Local, the Guardia Civil, and Salvamento Marítimo in their search.

The San Roque authorities said the deceased was a 43-year-old man from Sevilla.
