Public Safety, Fire, Police and Rescue Divers Dive for FREE on March 29, at White Star Quarry in Gibsonburg, Ohio.

Located in Northeastern Ohio, White Star Park in Sandusky county is an 800 Acre wildlife park open to the Public year round. On the park property is a 14 acre Quarry that allows scuba divers the opportunity to explore the underwater sights and practice their skills form April 1 - December 31 each year. The quarry is a popular sight for new divers and those divers wishing to practice their skills in a more controlled environment. With depths averaging 40 -50 ft the quarry is a fantastic inland experience for most.

Prior to opening the quarry to the diving public for a busy 2009 diving season, Divers Incorporated and the Sandusky County Park District want to give diving professionals and the more safety-minded divers who may visit us an opportunity to hear how swimming and diving emergencies are prevented and handled at White Star Quarry. There will also be an opportunity for these divers to familiarize themselves with the quarry "On Us!"

If you are a Public Safety Diver, EMS professional, Scuba Instructor, Dive Supervisor or Rescue Diver, we want to give you an opportunity to dive White Star Quarry for FREE on March 29 from 10am until 3pm. Divers will be required to show credentials, fill out and sign the park permit and waiver, but Diving will be free of charge for the day.

There will be a briefing at 10:30am at the scuba concession where the possible problem areas of the quarry will be pointed out and the Local Protocols for handling swimming and diving emergencies at the quarry will be explained. We are also planning on having a Practice Scenario for any teams or divers who wish to participate.

After the briefing, divers and dive teams will have a chance to dive the quarry and familiarize themselves with the underwater sites until from 10am - 3pm. We will have Hot Dogs, Soup and hot drinks available for divers.

If you are not a Public Safety Professional, we would appreciate you forwarding this on to the Police, Fire Fighters, Dive Professionals and EMS personel that you know. This event is not open to everyone and diving will be restricted to allow the people who keep us safe an opportunity to practice their skills with other professionals in their field.

Warm Regards,

Rich
