PT-015 & a PP0-04 lens...need help

I have an Oly c5050 & PT-015 housing. I have a PPO-04 wide angle lens & can't figure out how it attaches. I am assuming I need some sort of adapter ring. Can anyone help with this?

Are you sure that's the right part number? From what I've been reading the PPO-04 is not a lens, but a replacement lens port for the PT-023 housing. I have no idea wether you can use it with your PT-015, but IF you can, it would be by removing the lens port currently on the housuing and replacing it with this one. Even so, it still won't give you wide angle.

The PPO-04 was designed as a replacement port for the PT-023. It lets you put a W-CON-08 .8 wide conversion lens on your C-8080 and house it with the camera. Your C5050 would use a W-CON-07 wide conversion lens, but Olympus didn't sell a port to house it, and I seriously doubt that the PPO-04 will accommodate it. A better solution is a 67mm wet WA lens like the Inon that will thread directly onto your existing port and is removable underwater if you want to go back to shooting macro.

Apples and oranges - they aren't made to work together. As previously posted, the PPO-04 is for a different housing.

What you need for WA on your PT-015 is an Inon UWL-100 Type 2 lens adapter.

Do a google search for "UWL-100" - look for the reefphoto link.

Here's a nice comparison of the various WA lens set-ups available for the C5050. The UWL100 is the only one that offers a dome port for distortion correction.

Maybe you can sell your port to someone with a C-8080 and PT-023. They sold for $299, I think.

Very nice 5050 page! Since that review Ikelite now has a 67mm WAL, which is now the lowest priced available new. Not sure the Epoque is still available. I've used both Inon and Epoque; no discernible difference. I'm still looking for a reason to use my Inon dome.
