Proteus Upgrade

Hey,

Just managed to pick up a great deal from a guy getting out of diving. The package includes a Halcyon Proteus Can light (Not to sure if its the 3 or 6) but regardless, has anyone managed to upgrade the battery pack to NiMH on one of these units.... to get better burn times? Has anyone attempted to retrofit an LED module to the light head?

I believe it will be a great option for starting my tech diving aspirations, but any advice or information on future proofing it would be great.

You may want to look at The Deco Stop web site. They have a section dedicated to dive light stuff. If you use the search function there you can get most of your questions awnsered with out actually asking one. You may also be interested in a book by Air Speed Press called the Dive Light Companion, lots of information but not much about LED as it is a newer technology and still rapidly changing.
