Problem obtaining my NAUI Nitrox C Card

I went to San Andres Island, Columbia a few months ago. A great place.

While there , I found a dive shop that offered the NAUI Intro. to Nitrox Course. I took the course and was very satisfied with it.

I wanted to make sure that the dive shop in Columbia submitted the paperwork to NAUI in a timely manner so I contacted the latter about 6 weeks ago. The reply I received was as follows:

"We received the registration yesterday 2/27/07 and the cards are
being mailed to the Instructor today".

I have sent numerous emails as well as leaving voice messages for that person at NAUI asking why the card was mailed to the Instructor (in Columbia) and not directly to me here in New Jersey. I've gotten no reply despite numerous attempts to contact her. I'd also mentioned that I am going to Cozumel on April 12th. and would like to have my Nitrox C-Card (or some proof that I successfully completed the course) but I get no reply from her. And yes, she is at her job,

Does anyone happen to know the name of an individual or a dept. at NAUI that I can contact about this?

NAUI cards are always mailed to the instructor. Unfortunately, it sounds like the instructor doesn't care since she in in Columbia and you are in New Jersey.

Call NAUI back and explain your situtation. If you don't get a satificatory answer escalate it up the chain of command. Don' the the person of the phone without getting to speak to his or her manager.

I doesn't appear that you have escalated it within NAUI after the person indicated the card was sent to the instructor. In absense of any informatio to the contrary the NAUI person would naturally assume that the instructor provided you with the card that NAUI sent to her.

I don't think that NAUI is going to allow their reputation to be soiled for the sake of an indifferent instructor.

You could have paid $49 and got the card online!! Instead, you probably paid twice as much and didn't get the card....

Honestly, I'll bet Naui will fax you a temporary card or email you one if they understand your situation. Or if you had gotten it from PADI, you can print it up at anytime, only for a minor charge of $30 ....
