Brockville would be ideal. About 3 hours away. And easy access to good diving. Done some dives in the river as well as the cold part of it in Quebec.

Great bunch of people. Dan opened the shop in 1994 and now his son Matt runs it. They are only a couple of hours from my house.

Yes, I spoke to Matt a while back about his training and the possibility of my training with him. I understand that he runs very thorough and challenging technical diving courses.

If he’s running them… DDS hasn’t had any technical courses for most of 2024. A colleague of mine said that he (Matt) had an ear drum problem and was out of the water for a while…

You can communicate with him on Facebook. I'll try to find his page for you.

1974, oldest PADI ship in Canada. I can vouch for Matt’s courses being excellent, I’ve done intro to tech and cave courses with him. Another tech instructor in the Oshawa area is Dan Suke. Pretty sure he is TDI among his other agency affiliations.

Hello ScubaBoard,

Not sure if this is the right section, or if it belongs in the “Canadian” geographic section of the forums.

There appears to be a lack of *active* TDI shops within Ontario. Occasional courses or a mix of TDI / NAUI. I’m looking for a TDI instructor/shop in Ontario that is active and is running courses regularly. Looking to start by doing my Advanced Nitrox in the spring. Please reach out if you have any suggestions or are an instructor looking for a new student.

Erik
Dean’s Sport and Dive in Kitchener is TDI
