Is the oceanic probe good for a first bc? Anyone have any advice on this, divers supply has a pack for $800 including shipping, a alpha7 reg ,octo, probe bc, 3 gauge console. Is this a good deal? As always any advise is appreciated.

I have been using an Oceanic Probe since last July and have found it to be a well made, good fitting BC. I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm not sure about the price for the package you outlined. I purchased mine through LP for around $380. The alpha 7 goes for around $180 at LP plus about $50 for Octo and $125 for 2 gauge oceanic console. Not too far below from the package you're looking at.

My first BC was a earlier model probe, it served over 6 years usage 400 dives, looking a bit faded as i leave it in the sun to dry (i know i know) but other than that its still sevicable
