Well, its that time of year again. One front after the next. Tomorrow's forecast for 15-20 mph southwest winds will result in our rig dive being cancelled. The dive gods have forsaken me.

Disappointed but not defeated.
Maybe next time.

Daylight,

The Dive Gods have not defeated you: they just gave you a test and you passed it! The Dive Gods never defeat us. They only test us, send us warnings and grin when we are having a good time!

Joewr...wondering if the next rank after Super Regulator is Dive God?

Thanks for the encouragement.

Pondering the situation, as I sit here with my stuff piled around me, nitrox tanks at the ready, and my Dee Rag tightly tied.

All things happen for a reason.

...while chanting to Neptune. Maybe I wore the wrong Dee-Rag!

The Dee Rag is fabricated by Scuba Board's very own Dee. As an extremely satisfied owner of a couple of her creations, I can attest to the functionality and fashion.

I believe she has a web site available for viewing of her product. I believe Doug has made numerous enhansement suggestions.

When you are as bald as me, you make sure the dome is covered. The Dee Rag ties well, covers the dome completely, and is a very colorful accessory for diving. I highly recomend it to all the follicleally challenged.

Martin....since you asked, maybe I'll be allowed to send you to my website.

Dee-Rags...commonly called doo-rags, are a fabric skull cap that ties on to fit your specific head size. They prevent your scalp from getting sunburned if you're bald, help control long hair underwater and are just fun to wear. They were made popular by bikers in the past but recently divers have been wearing them.

Just remember, IT COULD BE WORSE!

This summer has been rather disappointing in terms of coast and offshore diving for me as well.;-0

Seawolf and I have scheduled not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 separate excursions to the Texas coast this summer.

Our first Flower Gardens trip was scheduled back in June. Cancelled due to weather. We went to Lake Travis instead.

Our Second FG trip was then scheduled in July. Cancelled due to weather. We booked a rig trip in the Corpus Christi area. It too cancelled due to weather. Too bad they couldn't tell us until we arrived at the dive shop at 6am. We visited the Texas State Aquarium and had our faces pressed to the glass on the Flower Gardens and oil rig exhibits. Tried to dive the jetties on Port Aransas. NO vis and heavy surf. Dive aborted after 2 minutes (I still put it in my log just for the amusement factor). Lost my truck key while packing all the gear up for the drive home. Had to hike back to the motel to get her key.

Last but not least, we booked an oil rig trip. We even took Texasmike along as a good luck charm (he had a great trip to the Flower Gardens, the scum!). Cancelled due to weather before we even left Dallas. Dove Lake Travis again. Tried the dam this time and really enjoyed it.

Gotta love the Gulf of Mexico. You just can't predict the durn thing!

Dee,
I love your web site. What a great idea! Is that Beast you're using as a model? What a cutie!{Bet he's been called a lot of things, but never a 'cutie}'.
