I have a Pro Plus 2 that I purchased used from a friend's mother (he passed away a couple of years ago). I have used the computer several times with no problems, but after a dive at Blue Heron Bridge on Saturday, 8/14/10, the computer has behaved strangely. After rinsing and drying, the computer will count up to 2:00 minutes and then turn itself off, turn itself back on again, and repeat over and over again. I looked at the Set 1 and Set 2 area and all of the settings will continuously rotate through the possible settings. I sent an e-mail on the Oceanic web site and called customer service asking for a call back from Tech Support. No one has contacted me even though I was promised a call back within an hour.
I want to know if I should send in the computer for service or is there something simple I can do. I have removed the battery from the computer to turn it off.
My wife also has this computer. We had to send that one in to be overhauled and it still will act up (will not come out of surface mode on a dive) once in a while.
After having two of these computers and both have problems, I could never recommend this computer to anyone for purchase. I am surely happy with my old Genesis Resource Nitrox computer and glad I have it as a back up.
