PADI Retailers and Resorts in PADI Americas and Canada hosting Pro Night events have racked up revenue exceeding $2 million US over the past two years. Pro Nights are events co-hosted by PADI staff and PADI Retailers or Resorts promoting opportunities in scuba education from entry level through PADI Professional.
The programs include an inspiring presentation that taps into and ignites a passion for diving, helping motivate attendees to enroll in scuba courses and purchase necessary equipment on the spot. Pro Nights can yield tens of thousands of dollars in training fees and equipment and travel sales, with an average of more than $7250 US per event.
“The Pro Night program is one of the most effective tools we’ve found for generating immediate sales for PADI Dive Centers and Resorts,” says Nick Jenny, Executive, PADI Retailer and Resort Association for PADI Americas and Canada. “In fact, we’ve seen PADI Dive Centers and Resorts bring in more than $100,000 US in a single evening!”
PADI Members often find their Pro Night results exceed their expectations. “Our Pro Night event was better than I ever expected,” says Ron Waxman of Benthic Scuba Centre in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. “We invited our entire customer database of active divers – about 550 people - and asked them to bring their friends too. Fifty people showed up. We started ringing up sales at 9:00 PM and didn’t finish until after midnight. In three hours, we sold more than a full month’s worth of business!”
A New Twist on Pro Nights for 2013: Discover Scuba Diving Nights
One reason that Pro Nights are so successful is that they effectively promote entry-level diving in addition to feeding professional programs. In fact, many PADI Members successfully attract nondivers to Pro Nights, but then face an additional hurdle because they need them to come back at a later date for a Discover Scuba® Diving experience.
This is where the Discover Scuba Diving Nights program comes in. This Pro Night alternative can help PADI Retailers and Resorts attract nondivers to a Pro Night-style event that culminates with the attendees completing a Discover Scuba Diving experience. Prospective divers get in the water immediately, improving the odds that they’ll go on to the PADI Open Water Diver course – and beyond.
The Discover Scuba Diving Night program is a great way to take advantage of the newly enhanced Discover Scuba Diving program and the new Discover Scuba Diving Participant Guide.
“The PADI organization is continually updating sales and marketing programs to deliver cutting edge programs for driving revenue,” says Jenny. “The ongoing success of Pro Nights throughout the Americas and around the world reinforces PADI as the premier retail stimulus organization in the dive industry. Others may promise, but PADI continues to deliver real-world results.”
