With a recent change in ownership and management, Pro Dive International remains committed to leading the scuba diving industry in education, technology, programming, and operational best practices in every segment of the company – schools, charters and retail.

Maintaining a mission of such high caliber will be accomplished by developing a staff of equally high caliber instructors. Pro Dive is hiring multiple positions for its November 2008 re-opening and we are looking for dive professionals who are the “best of the best.” We would like you to be part of our dynamic future if you possess vast experience, an unparalleled passion for diving, a concern for the aquatic environment, a talent for teaching, and a commitment to customer service.

Unique advantages of being on the Pro Dive Team:

For personal growth and experience we rotate positions so that employees will enjoy working the retail store, the dive boats, and teaching classes.

We have attractive compensation and benefits for our staff.
Our campus is in a resort location located on the Intra-coastal Waterway and adjacent to Fort Lauderdale Beach. The Pro Dive Campus includes a 10,000 sqft training center with on-site pools, classrooms, boats and retail facilities.

You have the opportunity to teach a complete spectrum of instructional programs, as well as the proprietary programs uniquely offered by Pro Dive.

Selecting a staff of dive professionals of this quality is not to be taken lightly. Although experience and credentials are important in the make-up of instructors, actual performance is the truest measure of abilities. Pro Dive will be conducting performance interviews for the selection of all positions. These performance interviews may be done in person or by video. Applicants must either attend one interview day or submit a video for interviews and Instructor Proficiency Demonstrations. Interviews will be conducted to learn more about your background, core values, and teaching experience. During the Instructor Proficiency Demonstrations you will show us your knowledge, skills, teaching methodologies, and ability to perform essential tasks common to professional diving instructors.

Visit the Pro Dive website for complete details and an online application.

Thanks so much for your inquiry but, unfortunately, we don't utilize internships except in our Advanced Instructor/Resort Operations Specialist training programs. Our minimum qualification for employment is MSDT, with IDC-Staff preferred.

Hope you will consider us when you're ready to advance your training level though!

Cheers,
Kelly

I am looking for dive work in southern Florida. I am not an msd-t, but I am a padi owsi, I helped teach classes under a guy in northern florida this past spring, unfortunately I had to leave because I was uncomfortable with his teaching style. I have experience organizing dives and I am very comfortable teaching students, I am 29 years old, and very fit. I work as a personal trainer in upstate New York right now. I am looking to relocate to Florida in the early spring, I guess my question is are you firm on the msd-t qualification? I did complete the dives for, but did not have the paper work submitted for the following specialties hoping to complete the msd-t program; night, deep, navigation, and search & recovery.

You can email me at cj_waid@hotmail.com if you may be interested in a new instructor.

Thank you

Thanks for your post and interest. Please go to Pro Dive - Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Scuba Instructor Training to complete the online application. I should point out, however, that in just a few days your YMCA Instructor status will be a part of history. We'd love to talk to you about new credentialing; don't let your students -- past & future -- lose an important part of diver education...
