Personally, I have no problem with the DM or captain assembling my gear. They do it a lot more than I do and on some of the smaller boats it's easier when not too many people are trying to move around at once.

I always check their work, of course.

Thanks folks. I have a young diver and I TOTALLY want him to setup his own gear. And I agree, if they want to carry our dip bags, that's fine... I like to consider myself too much of a movie star and diva for such things! Wait....
