I have heard from some that the 24" hose is a little short for a single rig and was going to go with a 26" hose, but I can't find one, so what is the real deal with the hose length for the pressure gauge?

www.techdivinglimited.com
Click on "Hoses & Fittings"
Click on "High Pressure Gauge Hoses"
It's part # HP-26, and currently goes for $20.80.

If that sounds like a lot of work, just go to the homepage and search for "HP-26" and it'll bring you right to it.

:)

Come on Sparticle, I know you're more computer savy than that.

Here goes a direct link.

Long enough to reach the D-ring and clip/unclip but no longer.
Sadly, it will vary depending on the regs (where the HP port comes out), and can also take a while to get used to (you might be able to use a shorter hose as you get more practice)

Maybe try and use/borrow a hose before you buy.

I posted on this issue a few weeks (months?) ago. Was using a 24" hose and thought I needed something longer. A few people suggested just diving it a bit longer. 10 dives later and I found it to be fine. Then, just when I thought I had it under control, I slung a 40cf (first time) and LOL, back to square one. Finally got the gauge unclipped, but it was beyond me getting it back on. More practice ahead...

Don't feel bad, this was my exact same experience with a 30cf bottle.
