Chicago Scuba Meetup (CSM), a dive club in Chicago, is having its monthly meeting on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 7pm at Lalo's Restaurant (basement) in Lincoln Park. This promises to be a very interesting presentation and CSM is a great way to meet local divers who dive both in warmer waters and at local sites.

More information on CSM is here: The Chicago Scuba Meetup Group (Chicago, IL) - Meetup.com
More information on this event: Scuba Meetup January Meeting-Special Guest Pam McPherson - The Chicago Scuba Meetup Group (Chicago, IL) - Meetup.com

We hope to see some new faces!

More info on the presentation:

Our special guest for January will be Pam McPherson, former Aggressor Fleet Photo Pro. She will give a presentation called "Nudis 101"

Pam McPherson has been diving for 17 years and is a Master SCUBA Diver Trainer and has 1238 logged dives. In 2004, she left her career in Information Technology to pursue her underwater dreams full time on the Nekton Pilot live-aboard in Belize. After a few harrowing rescues and helicopter lifts, Pam upgraded to the Aggressor Fleet in Kona, Hawaii where she worked as the resident Photo Professional. Pam completed her SCUBA tenure on the Palau Aggressor in Micronesia, leading dives in strong currents on the Blue Corner where she helped guests use reef hooks to suspend themselves mid water column to get close up and personal with gray, black tip, and whale sharks. She has dived to such locations as Tahiti, Galapagos, Australia, Truk, Bali, Puerto Galera and Boracay.

Pam is here tonight to tell us about her passion for Malacology or the study of Nudibranchs… also known as the “Butterflies of the Ocean”.
Nudis 101 – All you ever wanted to know about Nudibranchs… and even some stuff you didn’t want to know!

We will also have a short presentation by inventor Bill Messner, who will demonstrate his "Ponypak", a new harness for redundant air sources.

DON'T FORGET! We will also be announcing the winners of our first Photo Contest!

We will meet in the basement of Lalo's in Lincoln Park. We will start at 7:00 for a Meet and Greet, when you can order food and drinks. The meeting will start at 7:30. Presentation at 8:00.
