RETMTFE,

Do not buy a clear coated tank, particularly for use in salt water. The finish will eventually develop cracks which will make salt impossible to remove. For this reason, I ended up stripping the six that I had.

What did you use to strip them?

Catalina was the only company offering a clear coat over brushed finish. My understanding is that this has been discontinued. My personal preference would be for a brushed tank, but the natural finish provides more protection from degradation. Water gets under the shot blast finish and those who do not remove the various collection of stickers annualy can get a big surprise.
