Need help posting photos, how can I post a photo along with a post?

I am not the person to help with the "tecky" stuff but I can help you post pictures.

If the pictures are located on a website already, you can post them as follows:

- Every picture posted on the internet has an address such as this http://www.divingmyway.com/images/Lapse_Water.jpg . When displaying the picture alone in your browser (not as part of a page) you can copy the address as I did for that. Then, in a ScubaBoard POST window, paste that address between
at the end with no sapces. If you do this, be sure the picture is not too wide otherwise the screen you see here will get very wide (I believe 800 pixels wide maximum is OK).

The result of this is as follows (and as I recall I resized this photo to 800 pixels for this exercise):
Lapse_Water.jpg

If you have the pictures on your hard drive, you can upload them to your SB account in the photo gallery here. Then simply browse and find your picture, upload it and open it. Once it is opened, you will see a small box containing BB CODE that can be copied and pasted into a post window. It will look like the following code (except I changed the first and last square brackets [] to {} so that you can see the code:

This is the result if you simply copy and paste BB Code from your gallery:

You will see that the picture is automatically resized so that it nicely fits the window. There is no need for you to resize the photo yourself which is convenient.

Yeah that picture was taken from the Sand Dollar (just a few feet from the Den Laman dock. We stayed at Den Laman in October during Hurrican Omar (TS Omar at that point). This was obviously from before the storm :D.

Thanks. I was pretty sure I knew the boat and that low profile island. I was just looking at that boat from the dock at Buddy last week.

During Omar? Ow! You got to see the damages first hand then.

Have you been back since Omar?

OFFICAL :hijack: (sorry but I believe the answer is there).

No I have not been back since unfortunately. I am sure it would have been quite comical to watch me. My GF and I woke up early"ish" Tuesday morning to go for a morning dive on Bari. We got suited up in our room at Den Laman and walked downstairs. We saw it was raining but that is OK (we thought). The we round the corner and HUGE SWELLS.....people must have seen the disappointment in my face.....as we sat there and I thought "If I jump in and kick immediately then maybe, just maybe......". It was not happening. Then my other buddy and I dove Thursday morning and the water was OK getting in at Bari, visibility was about 15 feet due to the sand floating, there was a fair bit of damage but mostly it was sand covering everything at depth. But when we got to the surface after the dive we had a terrible current to contend with and back to 5 foot swells where we were trying to get out of the water (Bari dock). That was not fun. So we lost 3 days of diving and the Friday we dove only Bari and one dive on the east side (Baby's Beach).

These are just a couple of the videos I took (with my old P&S so it is not the greatest). All in all, I had a vacation where I enjoyed myself...just did not dive as much as I would have liked.

Thanks for the great help to the poster, Steve!

As long as we're on this, here is how you post a YouTube video, like Steve did. Just use
"[YT]code[/YT]" instead of "IMG"
.

Hey I need to be good for something :D (contrary to popular belief at home :rofl3:)

And for the youtube posting, you do not use the whole link. Each you tube video is assigned a unique code and that is what you need. In the case of this one:

the required code comes after the "=" sign and is "zN76fGKlmpg". So to post that video here you would enter (replacing the {} with [] )

{yt]zN76fGKlmpg[/img}

This what the full link looks like.
