Posting photos in Threads

Here's how I did this.

View your gallery here on SB. Below the image to the right of the code in the Linked Thumbnail box is a small icon that looks like a computer monitor. Click it.

Highlight everything in the Medium Image box and copy it - On a PC hold Ctrl and type C - mouse selection is disabled for some reason by the Gallery software.

Paste it in your post:

Thanks Steve. I can figure it out from my gallery but I was trying to post something off my smugmug account which didn't work. Does the photo have to be uploaded to scubaboard?

Like this? (been there, done that...)

Select the photo, then click the share link above it on Smugmug.
Select Get a Link then Photo Links. Copy everything in the (medium) link.
Then using our Insert Image tool paste it into the dialog box to post it here.

So why isn't this looking right? What am I doing wrong? I clicked on the insert image Icon and place the Url of the image I want to post but it keeps looking like above.

I'm not seeing anything but blank space, which I'm assuming is what you're getting. Can you post just the URL that you're trying to use?

For those that aren't aware, one other way to experiment with posting features is to go the the Advanced editor. A couple of boxes below the edit window are two buttons: "Post Reply" and "Preview Post". Clicking the latter will update the page to show the formatted post above the edit window.

It's because Flickr remaps the actual URL of your images to a simplified URL.

So the image that Flickr shows at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ozziworld/4763655233
is actually at: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4119/4763655233_0fcfc6313e.jpg

To get the actual URL, I right clicked on your image and selected Copy Image Location.

Inserting that url between the image tags yields:

Let me try again.

Where did you find the correct link? I just picked it up from the grab link window. but it showed the simplified one. I got this link from the window that opened when I right clicked on my flickr page photo and went to "view page source".

Am I not looking in the right place?
