I'll update this first post as a running synopsis of this thread.

This is a Post Wrinkles Sunday Boat Dive for the day after the Wrinkles Dive in the Casino Point Dive Park.

For a complete list of all of the Wrinkles dives for the 2007 calendar year, see this thread:

http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=169078

When:
Sunday, November 11th

Where:
The Scuba Cat
In Avalon, CA on the Green Pier aka The Pleasure Pier

Directions (click here)

For reservations call:
(310) 510-0330

Destination:
Catalina Island (2 dives)

You can board the boat at 9am for the 10am departure. (The boat leaves year round at 9am on Saturday & Sunday and 10am Monday-Thursday, but this is a special "late departure" for us on this day.)

The boat returns at around 2:30 pm so that you can catch the 3:45pm boat at The Mole. For your convenience they can drop you and your things off right at The Mole. That saves you from having to haul your stuff from the Green Pier to The Mole!

Cost:
(includes refreshments/snacks and AL80 tanks. Since they do not fill tanks on the boat, if you dive your own larger tank on the first dive then you will only have an AL80 on the second dive.)

Note that this is a special arrangement and reflects a pricing structure for these specific ScubaBoard events. It does not represent Catalina Divers Supply's regular pricing structure.

$90 ea. = 0 - 8 people
$85 ea. = 9 - 16 people
$80 ea. = 17 - 26 people

Don't wait until the last minute to sign up for any of these boats.

Remember that each of these boats is working on filling these open boats just like we are. If a shop comes along in February that wants to fill an October boat and we have only taken 3 spots. The rest of those spots will be sold. That's the only way that we can work with these boats and not make a financial commitment to them up front.

I've already given my credit card number to all of these boats to hold a spot for me. Keep in mind that they only use the card to hold the spot and will only charge it on the day of the trip, so if you book these trips now for the whole year, you won't be charged for a year's worth of boat diving all at once.

What is the Post Wrinkles Sunday Boat Dive?

Since many people travel for the entire weekend when we go to Catalina Island for the Wrinkles Beach Dive, we are trying something new for our Wrinkles Dives in this region. We are adding a 2 tank boat dive on Sunday for people that would like to do a couple of dives in a location other than the Dive Park in the morning before going back home on Sunday. This will also allow those of you who can't make it out on a Saturday to join us on a Sunday.

This is a monthly gathering of all divers in SoCal who can make it.

It all started when our SoCal member, Wrinkles, mentioned to a group that she dove with that it would be really fun to be able to get together at least once a month. Pasley, took off with the idea and announced the first "Wrinkles Dive". The rest is history!

It's open to divers of all skill levels from "What's an anchor line?" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

This is a great way to meet our fellow divers and make new dive buddies! You don't have to have a buddy to participate, lots of us would be happy to buddy up with you.

RSVP:

RSVP on the ScubaBoard Calendar once you have a confirmed reservation:

http://www.scubaboard.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=1064&day=2007-11-11&c=32

(you can now rsvp and include your guest count for your non-ScubaBoard buddies!)
Please sign up on the Calendar and update your party size on the calendar with changes, so that we can compare our list with theirs in advance and make sure that there are no discrepancies.

On the ScubaCat? How could you do this to me???

Nothing personal, Bill!

Catalina Divers Supply got in touch with me about putting something together and this is what developed. It also involves a deal on airfills at Casino Point for that Saturday, which I'll have more info on at a later time.

Anyway, I thought that you were friendly with both shops.

Christian

Christian, actually I was just teasing you. I am friendly with both shops, especially the staff. Of course the K.N. does three tank dives, is tech friendly and has much better meals... but, more importantly, I could join you on it but not on CDS' boat.

This Catalina weekend is really shaping up to be a huge bash.

I just want to remind everyone that this Sunday boat dive is available that weekend.

We had a blast on this boat on the last Wrinkles weekend in Catalina and I look forward to this one too! I really love that you're on the dive sites so quickly since they are all "just around the corner."

Note that the boat leaves at 10:00 am, so that you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn if you decide to savor the nightlife that Catalina has to offer.

It's a great way to wrap up the diving for the weekend and we have late checkout in my suite in case you want to leave your stuff there. I usually take the last boat off the Island on Sunday, which gives me time to relax and enjoy everything.

If you are renting gear for the weekend, be sure to ask Cinde at Catalina Divers Supply about the discount you get on gear rentals and airfills for the weekend when you are scheduled to dive on this boat.

It's only August and I can hardly wait for this incredible weekend!

What's nightlife? LOL! I'm usually in bed by 9pm :dork2:

I want to reserve some luggage room in your suite! Mark off a square and put my name on it :D We're taking a late boat with Ann Marie but I'm not sure it's the same late boat you're on.

When should I ask about the discount since I have to rent tanks and get fills?

I am SOOOO excited! One of my dive buddy's said "There are Great White's out there." He seemed a little disturbed when I told him I hoped hubby could get a picture of me with one like he did with the alligator (preferably not a picture of me being eaten). :rofl3:

Maybe we'll get you to stay up until 10:00 (it seems that this is when we get done with dinner most of the time)!

You'll have a reserved square in our suite and your boat will be plenty late enough to enjoy some after dive fun!

Ask for the discount on tanks and fills right away!

We'll feed an OW student to the shark while you pose for the picture (nothing like a live action shot)!

Hey Christian,

I was justing chatting with Steve and thought I'd say hi. How are things? The local dive group here is actually planning a trip to Catalina on November 13-18. They're doing the Bottom Scrathcher liveaboard. I don't think I can make it this time around, though if things change, I'll definitely go there earlier and do the Wrinkles dive with you guys. It sure was fun.

Hi Praising,

Things are great! I hope things are great with you as well.

We'd love to see you come to another Wrinkles Dive! Maybe things will work out this time or maybe we'll see you at another one in the future!

Christian

The crowd is growing, so don't miss out on the fun we'll have on the Sunday Morning Post Wrinkles Boat Dive!

Remember that the boat does not leave the dock until 10:00 am, so you actually get to sleep in.

The suite that Ted and I are staying in has been given to us for the day by the Seaport Village Inn to use as a place to put your gear and shower up after the dive. They'll give us a bunch of extra towels for this.

So, give Cinde a call at Catalina Divers Supply and get your boat reservation now. It's less than 4 weeks away!
