Sad day today, this is the answer from the shop where my wing was bought...

QUOTE

i talked to our supplier today. Based on the information you gave us they
refuse it be a gurantee case. It is used and especially as you write you did
some dives with it. We cannot control what happened during the dives and
after and how you stored the Wing before and after. We cannot replace the
Wing.

Every Wing which leaves our Shop is checked, inspected and inflated to make
sure it leaves us in perfect condition. That happened to your wing too and
everything was fine when the Wing left our facilities.

If it is leaking small quantity during a dive there should not be a problem
of using it. If you know where the leackage is i recommend to seal it with
Aquasure.

This wing costed me a small fortune, 10 dives and now it is puncuted, the fabric looks new and shiny, the hole is really a pinhole, very very small...

I am pretty sure I can repair it with aquaseal but I have to admit the the idea to dive with a rapaired wing doesn't appeal to me very much...

I am really thinking to throw it in the dustbin and buy a brand new Eclipse from an Halcyon authorized Italian re-seller...

Am I paranoid ?

Repair it with aquaseal. I repaired 3 holes (all small) in my wing right after I got it (a Rec Wing). I then went to Coz and dove it to 135 feet. It is still air tight. The repair is no biggie.

A tiny Hole,,(pin hole?) Aquaseal is my vote as well. It's pretty good stuff.

Repair it with aquaseal and that will probably be the most puncture resistant part of your H wing. If you can get to the hole from the inside, place a piece of tape so the aquaseal does not glue the inside of the wing. Work it into the area of the puncture with your finger (or a toothpick if you can pinpoint the hole. Be careful not to glue the wing together.

I cannot access the inside, the tiny hole is in the upper part of the wing...

Tomorrow I will buy Aquaseal and with a toothpick I will put a drop of glue over the hole...

Just be sure to clean the area well, and spread a little extra around the hole.
If the hole is that tiny, try to add just a bit of air to the wing to separate the two sides. You dont want to glue the wing to itself. Don't add enough to blow out the repair though. Sorry for all the trouble you're having with this bro. It really sucks when a new, and expensive piece of equipment fails.

Hi,

I feel for you since I too get stuff from overseas this is a new wing too. If there was a way to reach the hole by unscrewing the inflator hose, you could try to get a bycycle patch and place that under the hole inside the bladder and then put a drop of aquaseal on the hole itself. You can then put another bycycle patch over that too just to make sure. I have long feared getting a hole in my bcs and if possible I would recommend anyone get a double bladder wing just in case.

Halcyon's wings are rather expensive but there are plenty of alternatives that are just as good or better like, Oxycheq Signature series, Deep Sea Supply, Golem Gear just to name a few.

There are some wings where the inner bladder is completely urethane, which makes patching easier.

Best regards,

SangP

If you used a credit card and the laws where you live are similar to the US, you can call your bank and tell them you were sold defective merchandise and want your money back and that the dealer refuses to take care of it.

The bank will give you back your money and take it back from the dealer.

Terry

I used them for 10 dives in Sharm El Sheikh without any problem last week...
The day before leaving I washed and dried the wings as I have always done...
As soon as I retuned home I put my BP/W on a hanger and orally inflate the wings to the maximum...
The day after I checked the wings and noticed that they were partially deflated...

If you remove the inflator elbow, it will give you a 15 to 20mm opening to work thru to get inside the BC. The collar on the elbow unscrews and the elbow lifts out (remember the position so you can reinstall it the same way). Use something long and skinny to work a plastic bag into the area of the hole so glue does not cause a problem. Only thing you could really do wrong at this point is to glue it together.

I'm sure this simple patch will work but if it doesn't, you can get some of the material and patch it like a tire tube. A friend had a large hole in his (5mm cut) that we patched successfully that way.

It is important to work the aquaseal into anf thru the clean fibers so it adheres well. When you buy the aquaseal, they should also have Cotol (toluene) which is a cleaner solvent for use with aquaseal. If you can get the drop of aquaseal right on the hole, a small patch might work. If not, you can always try againb with a bigger (ugly) patch.
