We try to dive Friday nights (Stonington) for Lobster... keep us posted when you head this way..

Same as Michael, I also live in South Windsor, do not have any first hand knowledge about Gerber... Which also means I haven't heard anything negative .. Which is usually the first news one hears...

I am trying to convince my wife to move south... lol...

I work in the Hartford area as well. Welcome to Connecticut and good luck on your interview.

Thank you. I'd rather stay further south myself due to the weather, unfortunately I work for a crappy company and need to leave to maintain my sanity!

Thanks! Lots of divers in the area...I like that :)

Well my interview day is set for Monday 25th. It's a fly there and back on the same day. The second stage interview will be a bit longer, so hopefully we can meet up sometime in August.

Cool. Keep us updated and good luck!

Hey Dr. Steve:

Good luck with the interview. There are quite a few divers up this way. I don't think this boat has been mentioned but it goes out of New London CT which would probably be about an hour and a half or so for you in the wee hours of the AM:

Southern side of Long Island would be farther but there are a number of dive operations down there and some nice, big wrecks.

I live just outside of Hartford in South Windsor. PM me if you need any further information on the area.

There's shore and boat diving from Jamestown and Newport, Rhode Island, which should be roughly 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Hartford.

There's great shore and boat diving from Cape Ann, Massachusetts. You can drive there from Hartford in 2 hours.

I never dove in any area rivers.

Here are a couple potentially helpful links:

I hope some of this helps.

An independant dive club! Awesome! I'm sick of "clubs" attached to shops.
