possible closing of dewey shores table rock

I dove dewey shores this past sunday and found out from at very reliable source that dewey shores next to the dam is or may be closing at the end of this month. Has anyone else heard about this. They are planing on building a new visitors center right next to the dam where the parking is for the ones of us that dive there.

I am planing on going back down this weekend to dive some on table rock and maybe found out more info.

It would seem hard to believe that they would close the diving there permently. I am under the impression that the divers are considered an asset to the community.

I just got back from diving at the dam over the weekend and I did talk to a couple of people and one of them was the executive director and he told me that we will still be able to dive at the location but will have to enter and exit a little further up the shore out of the area the work is being done.

Thanks for the update, and doing the legwork! Good to know it will still be diveable, if not quite the same.... getting close to the dam with the turbines running is an experience
