Anyone have any information on this BCD? A friend wants to sell his and anything you may have to say about it would help. I'm fairly new to the sport, but plan on doing quite a bit of diving - mostly FLorida reefs, wrecks, and caves - in the near future.

wreck/cave diving, you probably want to consider a BP/W rather than a jacket BC.
If you're new to diving, diving overhead environments may be more distant than the 'near' future...you'll need adequate experience, specialized equipment, and additional certifications.

Thanks for the info. I'm just looking to buy some initial equipment that will last me for a decent amount of time, and while I understand from previous threads that the BP / Wings set-up is normally a prerequisite for posting on this site I just want to know if this BCD is worth getting for a good price. I can get it almost new for about $200 and hadn't heard much about it.

Why cyklon_300 was recommending a BP/wings to you was because of the stated purpose for this SPECIFIC BC.
This is a "tech" BC. It is supposedly designed for "technical diving". If you want to persue technical diving, then a BP/wings would likely be a better choice than this. If you have NO interest in technical diving, then this BC is likely total overkill.
Why don't you ask your friend if he would be willing to let you give it a test dive and decide for yourself if you like it.

That's the exact type of response that is both helpful and informative. For the time being I just plan on looking at coral, fish, and sunken ships. Wreck diving to me (new to this) meant swimming around the outside of ships lying on the bottom.

Thanks for the response. As I re-read my own post I can see where it's confusing. I'm not going in any caves or wrecks anytime soon - I must be dizzy from reading too many threads. I'm just looking for some good recreational equipment that will work for a few years.

If you were taking a swipe at the BP/W rec, I guess it didn't register... I don't have a vested interest in what other people buy, just trying to offer my $0.02. However, for the types of diving mentioned in your original post, the Poseidon you're interested in is a poor choice of equip.
Bwerb properly decribed the BC in question...bulky, pseudo-tech. One product description states it has 14 (!) D-rings...that's hilarious. Ask your buddy why he's selling it, my guess it's because it is a poorly functioning piece of gear. You want a BC that improves your buoyancy control, not one that hinders it.
One point of confusion for me, tho...what is tiresome about getting free advice...thought that was the purpose of the board.
Oh well, my gear rocks...hope the stuff you end up with does too.
