Im off to buy my first regulator. I`ve been looking at Poseidon. Any of you guys dive with this brand?

I will be diving with Nitrox, cold water, need swivel on the 1st stage, and I want the exhaust to be on the side of the 2nd stage, not in front.

Any ideas?

What regs have you tried so far?

Why have you decided that you want a swivel/turret first stage and side exhaust?

Most importantly, what brands can you get local service and spare parts support for where you are planning to dive?

I have only tried the rental regulator while doing my diver courses.
There are no local Poseidon retailers :depressed:

My local dive center recommended swivel on the first stage when I first put some money into a regulator. And I want side exhaust because on the course i had front exhaust, and did not like the bubbles interfere with my sight. My colleagues highly recommend side exhaust, so why not try it?

Trying is one thing, buying is another

You can also get a wide exhaust tee on some regs, Apeks for example, that reduces bubble interference

Now that you've finished your class you are not going to be spending all your time kneeling on the bottom not moving.
If you are moving bubbles are not an issue.
You do know that Poseidon is a Swedish company?

i like poseidon. i the US, however, the brand has been tarnished with issues like service, shortage on parts etc. very sad. a very good example how a company can screw up their reputation despite an excellent product.

since you are norway, this would would not be a problem for you, i suppose.

Poseidon does not produce a regulator with a swivel on the first stage.... Having said that, I have been using odin/jetstreams and cyclons for years and they are great. I have not used the extreme, but I'm sure they are good too

I am very happy with mine. I live in S Florida, and my local scuba center is a dealer so no problems with repair, parts, etc. I've been diving with it for about 3 years. I also dive a Poseidon BCD. Like that also. Good products.
