Poseidon does not produce a regulator with a swivel on the first stage.... Having said that, I have been using odin/jetstreams and cyclons for years and they are great. I have not used the extreme, but I'm sure they are good too

Did not know Poseidon did not have a swivel on the first stage, thanks mate

Do I really need a swivel? My local dive center recommended it, but they were talking about dual system...

Finding a regulator is quite hard...

By the time you plug 3 (or 4 with drysuit) LP hoses that swivel is not so swivelly any more.

Im off to buy my first regulator. I`ve been looking at Poseidon. Any of you guys dive with this brand?

I will be diving with Nitrox, cold water, need swivel on the 1st stage, and I want the exhaust to be on the side of the 2nd stage, not in front.

Any ideas?

I've used Poseidon regs for years. They offer amazing performance. I've used them to a depth of 360' without incident (I prefer CCR or umbilical below 300'). The old Cyclon is arguably the best cold water regulator ever built and I've used them under the arctic ice cap without incident. That said, I currently use Apeks because of the lower cost of parts.

There are many excellent deep diving regs on the market. Whatever you have confidence in, use. That's the most important thing.

I love my poseidons. For deep stuff. Hate em for shallow stuff but dive with guys that love em.
Your requirements are tough. Side exhaust is nice but if you're diving properly then it's nonproblematic. Nice thing about them is they are reversable which is good for deco and sidemount. That said I dive my xtx50 set most of the time. Breathe almost as well but are reversable with the wide exhaust t's which is good for when I'm teaching. They have the swivel turret which is nice for sidemount but I hate it for backmount singles. Doubles isn't bad though with the end port for stuff. Hog and diverite cloned the atx50's which are similar but non reversable. For me buying apeks used and using hog or diverite parts kits and servicing them myself was much cheaper than buying new. They give free parts ya but it's still $100+ for a doubles set in labor yearly when parts were $60 every other year. Keep that in mind. Also remember you may want custom hose lengths and an Lds may not offer that

As you are in Norway, you will not have any of the parts and service issues that we see in the US. Keep that in mind when you read the replies to this thread. Most posters will just tell you a very US viewpoint that has been colored by the parts import issues we have seen with Poseidon through the years.

As for myself, I have dove Poseidon regs for years, since 1987, and like them.

My buddy uses Poseidon regs and loves them. He also has a Poseidon rebreather, and that has been good. There were a few software glitches, but the upgrades have taken care of all that.

I agree after you hook up your reg with 3-4 hoses, the swivel won't be as effective.

I use ScubaPro regs, and really like them. But the Poseidon and Apeks are also excellent gear.

Safe diving to you.

I love side breathers, the Cyclon was a great regulator so was the Oceanic Omega and Omega II, an Omega III is rumored in the next few years.

Exactly, it's the costs and availability of parts to servicing a poseidon that I chose apeks and aqualung instead.

That and the way it breaths.

I've never had any problem with parts, but then I service them myself (they're not hard, just different).
