I have looked at Portage Quarries website but couldn't decide if there was any truth to a rumor I heard. I heard that you wont' be able to dive at Portage that weekend b/c of the "Blowout Concert" is it true that diving is ristricted during those concert weekends? I think it sounds like a fun weekend as long as I"m able to dive. Otherwise I'll find another quarry.

I emailed Jeff at Portage for the answer. Will let you know if I get a reply. I am definately looking for somelace to spend the weekend myself. I hope to spend the weekend camping, diving..................

Edited: My email was sent back undeliverable. I will call him tomorrow.

Alrighty I appreciate It I"m supposed to be headed up there with a huge group, but like you said I definatly want to spend the weekend diving/camping... I look forward to waht he tell you

I'm curious to hear about this too, actually. I'm supposed/hoping to do a dive at Portage sometime the morning of July 1, and it'd suck to not be able to get in. All the more so, since I live about a mile and a half from it.

Well from my understanding if you're able to dive or not is still out... but forsure it will be 28 dollars to get in for the weekend no rentry.... so if you just dive the morning of th e1st I think it'll still cost 28 dollars.

I just called the quarry's dive shop, and they said that things will be operating and open as normal for divers--$10 to get in, and all that.

Well that's what I like to hear... my mind is made up I'll be at Portage Quarry this weekend from Friday Evening to Sunday afternoon ... should be a good weekend

Agreed...my girlfriend and I are probably going to do White Star on Friday, and do Portage on Saturday. I can think of worse ways to spend the weekend. :14:

Hey, my hubby and i and a couple of friends are going to be at Portage on Sat and camping over night and diving again on Sun so we'll be there too.

Maybe we'll see you there tomorrow...Becky and I did White Star today (her first dive as a certified diver), and we'll be at Portage by 10 tomorrow morning to do a dive with her sister. Hope to see you there!
