port question

I recently acquired a Sea and Sea mdx 7000 housing and I need the port set up. I have a Sea and Sea 79 #56251 port. I will be using a Nikon 60mm AF D lens. Will this port work for that lens? The port chart shows that that 56211 is the compatible port but I do not see much difference other than a slight difference in length. I don't know if I should buy the port base for the 56251 or replace it all together.

Your macro port 79 is 1/2" shorter and .1" smaller than the NX std. port I use my 60 AF-D in. I suspect you'll have plenty of room, but try it, particularly with the lens at its longest focus position. Might even be a slight advantage, since the lens focuses very close and you'd have a bit more room for lighting.
