Been using the local pool a lot this winter to work on skills, new gear, etc. What equipment or gear have you found that could get most affected by the chlorine in the pool? I know everything needs a good rinse afterward, but are there any particular items to take extra care of?

I haven't tried, but someone mentioned pre-soaking anything that holds water in fresh water first (i.e. soak the wetsuit and BC in the sink before getting in the pool so the chlorinated water has to displace it to affect things). Made sense to me that it may delay bleaching/ chlorine damage.

BCDs and anything neoprene take quite a beating from chlorine. Rinse it well asap after getting out of the pool.

anything neoprene, and anything nylon will bleach from the chlorine, so wetsuits and bcd's. Presoaking doesn't really do anything, but putting it in a bathtub for a few hours with an aquarium pump for circulation and some dechlorinating drops for aquariums or a bit of vinegar will help neutralize everything
