In the course of repairing another Extreme Elle for a lady friend I came to own a brand new one which was GIVEN to me for parts due to it having a split bag at a seam. I used the original plastic plate to repair the friends and then I had this one sewn up at the split seam. Now, what to do for a plate?

When completed the 1/8 inch thick (1/4 total) plates will be powder coated to match. The grey foam pad will be bonded to the inner plate. The V blocks will bolt to the plate with sex bolts. The STA holes are the standard 11 inches so a one piece STA will fit if shortened on the ends. I decided to go with the two Vee blocks so that I could use two standard cambands. I just don't trust a single camband, to may times I have had to resecure my wife's tank. With two cambands she should no longer have that worry. I, however, did retain the ability to use a single camband without an STA by using two rubber blocks that are not shown to stabilize the tank. Halycon sexbolts sandwhich the dual plates and BC.

It is pretty cool because it has the odd and misunderstood Up and Down button control, the LP inflator hose routes behind the diver, all in all pretty sleek, no corrugated inflator hose. It is also weight integrated. She will like it much better than her other two poodle jackets.

Very nice work!

I'm a great fan of double cam bands. In fact, I suggest makingt that a 'filter' in terms of buying any kind of BC.

give this one a thought: Apollo's Bio Tank Lock 2008 Model

Those are nice maged. I was planning on using two Dive Rite plastic cambands I have. I also have a spare set of metal Scuba Pro cambands. With two cambands I have never had issues, even when one broke but for some reason, a single camband oftens seems to try and work loose. That one you linked to looks to be very secure, especially for a single band application. Thanks.

A BC really should have two cambands unless it has a metal band or something like maged suggested.

I put it on her so I could make some measurements, man, I am jealous, this thing is so sleek! Maybe I have been needing my very own poodle jacket, ummm, well, maybe when I am like 90 ;).

:no::no: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME...um, ...WATER!

the LP inflator hose routes behind the diver, ......., no corrugated inflator hose.

just wondering .... how do you oral-inflate?

There is a small oral inflation tube that rolls up and tucks into the pocket. It has a little plastic cap that you pop off, it is tethered, and then you just blow into the tube, works good.

To heck with this wing junk, I want me one of these.

It has a up down button control, push one button, air goes in, push the other button and air goes out of multiple exhausts. Pretty cool. I wonder if I can put an up down button in my wing. I am pretty much liking the idea of no corrugated inflator hose.

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

first Orthodox vintage diver to say that!

so, I guess a modern hi-tec Ti regulator is 2nd on the list :D

I am not sure what to say.

Could somebody please find the real Nemrod...this is just too weird!
:rofl3:

I found that the Apollo BC vest harness looks like it works very similar to my modified vest harness.

Here is a brochure describing how they route the shoulder straps. It is basically the same as what I did and it controls the pack like any good harness.
I don't use or like the cummerbund; I use a regular waist belt.

The extra buoyancy area under your arms is just very handy on the surface if you want to float high on the water to have better visibility or being more visible to a boat. Underwater it is like if it didn't existed.

I think this harness modification would be an improvement to all vest BC.

I also agree that two tanks bands is basically the only way to go. I have added a second band to any BC that didn't have it. I also prefer a Scubapro style tank band (or similar).

I like your plate...I am not sure about not having a corrugated hose. I will admit that I use the pull dumps more than the hose, but I like the hose as a last resort quick air dump if needed.
