which side do you mount(tank mount) your pony and where do you position your second stage. neck, bc, rubber band to tank? I am thinking of keeping tank on my right and 2nd on a necklass.. under arm offset weight with lights and gear on left side. first time setting up to take to quarry in few weeks before ocean.

You will get lots better info from others but I mount (sling) my 13 on left since I keep my camera on right. i am right handed and this just feels natural for me. I use loop on neck of tank to hold regulator.

I mount my pony on the left side, the second stage is held in close to the cylinder neck by bungees below (or, I clip the bolt snap - attached to the second stage hose - to a pony cylinder neck brass circular ring).

If that works for you, great. My backgas alternate second stage is on a bungeed necklass, so I am not going to add another necklass. I have my can light on my right waist strap, or at the lower right of my BP. I have my back-up lights on my right chest strap. Weight on different sides makes no difference. There isn't a 'one and only one' right way. I wouldn't do it the way you describe, but I have determined what works for me. Your results may vary.

When I take the pony it's slung on the right side, because my SPG and inflator hose is on the left. Also the pony reg does not have to flipped around to breathe.
