Ronniemu:
I just purchased my first pony bottle and a Quick Draw Pony Bracket. What is the preferred method of mounting the bottle to my tank, right side up or upside down? Thanks for your ideas!

Ronnie

One key is to make sure you get your hose routing correct. I made the mistake of mounting my pony on the left side one dive, and did not realize it until I was just about to get in the water. I had to then screw around with an upside down octo. I got it so I could put the octo in my mouth correctly, but if I had to use my octo on that dive, I would not had much hose to work with.

If you mount the cylinder valve down, it helps to mount the first stage up-side down on the cylinder first. Then the octo-pony reg-spare reg-alt air source (pick your favorite name) will end up right-side up when you suit up.

Duct tape works best for mounting. If you give the pony one full wrap first it helps keep the paint or finish on your main cylinder from getting worn from tank to tank contact. :eyebrow:
