Is there any place on this planet, where they will sell a new pony cylinder without a valve installed? Every site I have visited sell all their smaller tanks i.e. 6 and 13 cubic feet, with a valve installed. I don't want the valve as I will just have to sell it on eBay or toss it out. I do not want to buy a used cylinder as it will need a Hydro which means I could have just bought a new one with the valve for the same dollar amount. If anyone knows where I can get one, please be so kind to direct me to the source. I have worn my fingers out searching the web.

Thanks

I would check with divegearexpress.com or leisurepro.com.
Good luck if you have already tried these websites and struck out.

Yea, I'd ask. I can see why they would not show it as an online item, it's an odd request.

I asked about this too but had no luck. Some places buy the pony with the valve included, so the shop would be left with an extra valve in that situation.

I ended up just buying used.

Yes. I already own a H2Odessy regulator but want to change the bottle size. It seems there is no way to do this because as I have been unable to buy just a bottle. I am sure there are many in this situation- so I guess we just throw out our $250.00 regulators!

Part of the problem- for a manufacturer, the net cost to produce (or purchase by the pallet) a valve is much less than that of creating and milling a cylinder. Something like giving away the corks for free with wine.

There wouldn't be a large financial incentive in subtracting out the minor overall cost of a valve.... When compared to overcome their lawyer's perception of increased liability. That's why most won't offer it that way.
