join a club at a dive shop and find another dive buddy if you plan to live to 21 nd older...

He knows he is OW cert, AOW cert, nitrox, resuce cert, and he even is a diver for the police.

One thing about insurance. I don't believe you are covered at all if you are diving beyond your certification limits. That said, IMO DAN is great. Never had to use them and hope I never will. Got the insurance though.

Rick do you think it would be good for me to get DAN insurance.

I have DAN insurance. I think it is a good deal for me. I also have it on my bride and on my baby girl (now 16).
You need to check with your folks for you.
