What ever happened to the old-style pressure guage that we used to use to check tank pressures? It seems like an SPG is unnecessary if you check the pressure on the surface for a pony bottle. The old-style guages probably are a lot less expensive.

If you need to resort to your pony during a dive, how will you finess your ascent speed and safety stop length based on remaining gas if you don't know how much gas remains?

And for that matter, without a gauge to monitor, you could never discover that your pony is leaking during a dive and that it's therefore time to abort.

You're just kidding about no SPG, right?
