Hey kids:

I realize that this has probably been asked a bunch of times before, so my apologies in advance. (I did numerous searches prior to writing this and came up with some very ambiguous replies).

I normally do pretty deep dives using a us divers conshelf supreme (sp?) and soon to be doing them with an atomics M-1. The dives are usually on air or nitrox, and i'll typically sling a 40 cu/ft. bottle with me. Usually i'll borrow a reg, but would like to buy one for that bottle exclusively.

FO2 in that bottle is never over 40%. Does anybody out there have any recommendations for a reg for this bottle? Do you have one you want to sell?

Thanks in advance for your help! I'm not on this board a lot, so it might be best to PM me if that works for you.

Well for starters, what are you doing with the Conshelf? If you're not getting rid of it, why not put it on the bottle if you have the M1 as your primary reg? Otherwise just about any reg will work just fine on a pony bottle, as it's just a bailout to get you to the surface in an emergency. A lot of divers I know use something like a Scubapro Mk2, or Oceanic Alpha 8 because they are affordable and reliable. I personally use Zeagle DSV's which are pretty high end balanced diaphragm regs, and overkill for "bailout" but since I will be using these bottles and regs for deco and stage bottle use in the future, I opted to get something fairly high end.

Thanks for your reply Jimmer. The pony is not used as a bailout; it's a deco bottle that i usually put 40% into.

Well even so, if it were me and I still had the Conshelf after upgrading to the Atomic, I think I'd be using that.

I use Apeks AT20s (now XTX20s) for my pony / deco bottles.
