In case my shore diving plans don't pan out next weekend, I guess I'll have to find some boats. I've seen a whole list of boats in the area, but could someone help me narrow it down?

I'm not much into wrecks, so I'd like to do some shallow reef dives. I'll also be alone, so it would be nice to have a DM leading the dive who I can buddy with. Also a boat which does nitrox would be good. And since I'm staying in Pompano, a boat that's nearby would be preferable.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

Tom Winters:
A lot of Jerry's dives are too shallow for me, but they might be just what you're looking for -> Parrot Island Scuba in Pompano.

I just dove with Jerry this past weekend. He saw my daughter's shortie wetsuit (she has to be different) and loaned her a full suit. The air temp was upper 50s, and the water temp was 68. Didn't charge me for it. He runs a very customer-friendly operation.

I've been going out w/ South Florida Diving & Lady Go Diver.

SFD runs three boats, has a nice website which shows you well in advance what they are planning on hitting. However the parking situation can be a real chore and get expensive if your doing alot of diving. No in water DM.

Been out on Lady Go Diver twice. Better parking situation, calendar doesn't go out as much in the future, had fun both times I went out.

Been out w/ Oliver once on Avid Diver. Had a blast and would use him again.

I wish more boats posted their schedule, or had email lists posting spots... I tend to go to the ops which publish, or if a friend calls me up. Otherwise I usually showup solo.
