Interested in purchasing a halcyon cannister light and I have decided on getting a Helios 9 cannister since I really won't notice the difference in 1.5 pounds above water and actually slightly more neutral in water (2.25 vs 2.50 for the Helios 4.5).
The main debate for me is in getting the 18 watt lighthead or the 10 watt 2003 lighthead.
I am leaning towards the 10 watt head seeing as Halcyon seems to feel confident that any bulb/ballast and flood issues have been resolved.
I am just a little confused in the big tennis match of opinion between the two.
I have also seen the Dive Rite MR11-6 in operation and find this to be a nice narrow cutting beam which seems to work well on wrecks up here.
Word is there is a new MR11-6 lighthead available from Halcyon which would also make this a valid option now too although it is currently only available with the Helios 4.5 cannister.
Interested in your vote and interested in why.
Also any pics for comparison or just to show your lighthead in action would be very welcome. Please specify not only the wattage but beam degree/brand/model when posting if you could.
I am only listing the lights that are of interest for my purchase so a few may be missing. Sorry about this.
Thanks everyone for your input and sorry for my vote I had to test it out. ;-)
