My mikron came with "comfo-bite" and I'm getting sick and tired of it.

I have one on my swim snorkel and it works great there (slightly different shape but the same basic design). But the snorkel sits on the forehead strap and doesn't weigh anything so it's essentially locked solid between the upper teeth and the forehead. There is no pressure on the lips nor the jaw. And it wouldn't make the swim goggles leak even if there was any.

The reg, OTOH, I have to hold up with the lower lip and that's enough tension around the mouth to break the seal at the bottom of the mask -- well, more often than I like, anyway. I'm starting to feel like the basic "whatever" mouthpiece of the rental regs is actually a better option: it did put more pressure on the jaw, but it didn't mess with my lips so my mask wasn't leaking nearly as much.

Hence the question: what do people use?

I know that they are not for everyone.......but I love my comfobite's!

I use the standard mouthpiece that came with my scubapro c370. Most of the time I don't have any issues with the mouthpiece no matter how long the dive is. On a couple of drift dives, I wanted to spit out the mouthpiece after about 45 minutes or get a different mouthpiece. Perhaps it takes more effort to keep the mouth piece in strong currents. Not sure if any mouthpiece would a difference...

I started using a comfo-bite, mostly because the long-hose primary-donate configuration required a bit more “bite” to counter the low-right pull before I went to a wrap-around-hose configuration.

I do notice after a couple shallow 1+ hour dives the comfo-bite “numbs” the roof of my mouth due to the pressure.

I’m not ready to abandon it yet, but a moldable long-bite has been on my radar.

I'm also using the comfobite. Thinking of switching to a moldable for the same reasons you are.

Tried another mouthpiece, don't remember which one, still not comfortable.

Had to clamp down when I turned my head with the rubber hose.
Put a flex hose on my primary, problem solved.
Was going to a swivel if that didn't work, but happy so far.

Using the comfobite mouthpieces that come with apeks XTX50 regs. After having more other peoples regs in my piehole than I want to think about after a year of doing s-drills, haven't run into any I like better, and all the mouthpieces on the halcyon/scubapro regs that I've breathed are just floppy and awful by comparison.

....actually a better option: it did put more pressure on the jaw,
This is kinda hard to explain until you do it.
I use the SeaCure, but when carefully molding it, it's really my back molar teeth that lightly lock it in place. The front teeth don't do anything and just sort of "float" in the mouth piece.
