According to Dictionary.com, definition #3, "sport" is defined as "An active pastime; recreation. "
Its a recreation. Bowling, Darts, Pool - all recreation.
Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Football: sports
Soccer - not a sport, its a recreation.
If SCUBA is a sport, then NASCAR is a sport...and we all know that's not true. Its an equipment intensive recreation requiring specialized training.
