Please answer the following question about your health if you dive. You can be completely anonymous about it.

Do you suffer from any of the listed conditions or are you completely healthy?

DivingDoc, I have high b/p but it is treated and I have had a stress test and passed. Both my GP and the cardiologist signed off on my med. forms when I took my OW course and I have been followed yearly since.

Wow, a lot of asthma in the poll. I thought that was kind of a bad idea? Maybe there is some new info on that I havent seen.

I have high BP, but its under control pretty well. Also working on lossing a little weight, maybe that should be added as a medical condition.

Uh, does old-timers' disease count???
What was the question again???

Geeee

Only 35% or so of the voters regard themselves as healthy (of 46 votes). This means 65% isn't!

This raises interesting questions:
- What would the vote result in if 'ordinary' non diving people were asked to vote? (i.e. are divers just a sick bunch of guys?:spew: )
- Are 'sick' divers :yuck: more eager to vote?

BTW
My best regards :kissy: to all of those struggling with some physical problem....

(That back surgery to you lay persons.)

The last one left me with sensory deficits, numbness from my left "cheek", the back of my thigh and on down to the bottom of my foot. I also have occasional weakness of that leg and it gives way, especially after a dive when I'm tired.

For those that posted asthma. Can you please PM me as that is what my wife has. She really wants to dive and we are in contact with the YMCA Scuba Medical advisor to see if she can pass his newly posted protocol. I would like to hear from those that have asthma to see how bad, what the triggers are, how long you have been diving, etc. You can also email me at ninman_ny@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance

BTW: I am heathly as of this writing, but that could change at any min.
