ScubaRic:
Has anyone ever been diving in the Pocomoke River, MD? I have looked at the river in the Snow Hill area and the State Park but did not yet go under. I am told that Pocomoke means "black water".y

Sorry so long to answer.
"Black water" is correct and it lives up to its name. Have canoed and kayaked it many times but I just can't imagine diving it, it is really black.
