In spite of some challenging visibility issues we had some great dives and much fun photographing. Kudos to Drew for the amazing improvement in his underwater shots. Pat has, I think, a $25 sure winner with her decorated warbonnet shot from Hood Canal. Then there is Dennis free diving and taking shots! Dave, Jay, Bobby, and Linda also have some quality images from the past few weeks.

September 13 Meeting
The central topic of the August 8 gathering will be a review of photos taken in July and August, and awarding the two $25 gift certificates. The ballots (bring to meeting, or send to dan@e-clements.com) and shots may be seen under the news tab at www.pnwups.com, or by following the link below:

In addition to reviewing these pictures, and those submitted by Jay and Linda, we will be reviewing Eddie Tapp’s backscatter removal technique. This is an amazing routing developed by one of the top Photoshop guru’s. If you want to experiment prior to the meeting, it can be found under the PNWUPS resource tab, or at:

http://www.pnwups.com/uploads/images/Backscatter_14-15.pdf.

We will also have the standard Photo Comment & Review and Dive/Travel Up-dates.

Upcoming Dives
The next scheduled dive is being put together by Jerry Effenberger on Friday, September 11 at Keystone. There is almost no tidal exchange from about 11:00 AM to late afternoon, so several of us are planning three tank dives, along with a BBQ lunch and snacking.

So far Jerry, Pat, Mike, Drew, Tracy, Dennis, and Dan have signed up.

This is a great opportunity to photograph sculpins on the pilings, giant Pacific octos on the end of the jetty, and the usual cast of characters. If you are interested in this dive, please call Dan at 425.418.8755 so we can get a head count.

Meeting Logistics
